Book Description
Ebony, Eris, and Emani Robertson have been through so much more than most high school freshman. When they were younger, they survived a school shooting that killed their friends and left their oldest sister unable to speak. After giving home-schooling a try, they enroll in a promising new academy, hoping for the best. The Robertsons soon discover, however, that their new classmates are anything but kind. A mysterious group of bullies known as the Dimes rules the hallways and spreads fear everywhere they go. All three sisters end up being targets of the gang and have to find a way to defend themselves. The triplets couldn't be more different, but their loyalty to each other and to their school never fails. Along with a diverse group of friends, the Robertsons do everything they can to uncover their identity of the Dimes and restore order to the school. As if their lives weren't complicated enough, they also get sucked in to a much bigger game-discovering who was responsible for the attack on their old school. Can they bring down the Dimes and
bring the murderer to justice, all while trying to make it through ninth grade?

Things I’ve learned as a mom of multiples
The Robertson triplets were so fun to write because they are fictional triplets who I could control as an author. My real-life fraternal twin children were in control of my life for the first five years of their lives. I ate when they allowed me to eat. I slept when they allowed me to sleep. The twins decided what was soothing enough to be on the television or on the radio. They were my bosses. I learned to accept these facts as a new mom. Parenting multiples is an adventure. It was an adventure I did alone for the first year because my husband was on active duty for the U.S. Army so, like the military, I learned to recruit a few good women and men to assist me.
1. I learned to ask for help
Just like in the war with bullies, you have to learn to ask for assistance when you need it. We came into the world alone, but we don’t have to struggle or go through trauma alone.
2. I learned to say no
When a beautiful or handsome face looks up to you, it is a challenge to say anything except yes, but if you want to maintain your sanity, you learn to say take those two letters n and o and put them into one word, NO! Our youth have to say no too when dealing with bullies. They may not be able to attend the party. They may not be able to comment on the post or repost something inappropriate. They may not be able to fulfil a request from someone who simply may be using them. They may have to respectfully decline.
3. I learned to save some time for me
After my son somehow emptied the entire contents of his stomach on my shirt, I learned that he was not going to look out for my needs. I would have to look out for my needs. If I needed to sneak away and enjoy some chocolate, icecream, or a sci-fi movie, I would have to allow myself to do that. If I wanted to look in the mirror and tell myself, “Hey, I know you have apple sauce in your hair, but you are beautiful.” I would do that. Our children, tweens, and teens can do the same. They may be cyberbullied, excluded, or called names, but they can write who they are in their own journals, they can speak who they are aloud, or they can spend some time with themselves to realize what they love and who they are.
Battle of The Bullies is a fictional tale of triplets who have to decide to fight, freeze, or flee when it comes to bullies. As a mom of multiples, some days, I felt like I had to do the same. Those babies of mine weren’t bullies, but I certainly was their target. Lol
