Blog Tour:Before They Find Us by Michelle A. Hansen {Review + Epilogue + Giveaway}

Author: Michelle A. Hansen
Title: Before They Find Us
Publication Date: November 2013
Genre: Romantic Thriller, Young Adult

Synopsis

I’m going to make you wish you were dead.

Just a text. Seventeen-year-old Rebecca Hales tries not to worry. Probably a wrong number. Not really meant for her, and definitely not related to the crime she witnessed six years ago. Right?

Then two states away, a bomb goes off in her best friend’s locker. Soon Ryan is labeled a terrorist and runs to the safest place he knows—Rebecca’s house in small-town Wyoming. It doesn’t take long for the FBI to show up asking questions. Rebecca lies, of course, and says she hasn’t seen him.

Now she’s neck-deep in it with him, whatever “it” is. The only way out is to return to Vegas, where Ryan is a wanted man. The city of lies and illusion tests Rebecca’s wits as she struggles to find the person who framed Ryan and why.

Is Rebecca’s text linked to the bombing? And what does it have to do with a six year old murder? Rebecca needs to find out before she loses Ryan—and her own life.

The characters

Rebecca Hales is a seventeen year old high school student, living in a small town in Wyoming. You'd think that she's your typical teenager but turns out she is anything but typical. She may seem like a regular girl on the outside but deep inside she keeps well buried an event that changed her life six years ago, an event that may be back to haunt her...

Six years ago, she witnessed a crime that took place in her neighborhood's park. Thanks to her testimony, justice was served but she still sees nightmares and doesn't sleep well at night but after all this time she knows that the bad guy is in jail where he deserves to be. But when her best friend Ryan who lives in Las Vegas is the prime suspect in his school's bombing and she gets threatening texts saying "I’m going to make you wish you were dead.", she's certain that the past is back and this time it's back for good.

Ryan Forsyth knew Rebecca since they were little kids. When he left his best friend behind and moved to Las Vegas, Rebecca was devastated but she decided to take it one day at a time. Even if they were living in different cities their friendship was tested as far as distance and time are concerned but it survived. So when Ryan is accused of a crime he didn't commit, he leaves Vegas and goes to the only place he's ever felt safety and that his hometown and Rebecca.

Together they try to put the pieces together and figure out if the bombing and the texts are related, Rebecca's past wants them both dead or there's someone they both know form the present...

Verdict

It's one of those books you can't not love! Before They Find Us is a suspenseful thriller with a well written plot, unexpected twists and well kept secrets. All the story's characters are powerful and essential and that shows what a great story this is! One of the best Young Adult Thriller books I've read!
