Review: Wander Dust (The Seraphina Parrish Trilogy #1) by Michelle Warren

Review

This is the second book about time travelling or better wandering that I read and I have to say it is a book worth reading. The story’s protagonist is Seraphina or Sera Parrish who’s living with her father. Her mother, Eliza, is believed to be dead but we’ll talk about it later. Now, back to Sera. After moving to cities like New York, Rome, Boston and Portland because of her father’s secret government job, they finally settle in Miami Beach. Everything seems good. She has a best friend, Beth and is the singer in a band. But all that changes when one day she actually wanders twenty years in the past in front of what looks like a school. When she’s back from the past and she’s sent to the nurse’s office, her father decides it’s better for her to go and live with her Aunt Mona in Chicago.

And that’s where her life complicates in a whole new way. The school she saw, is actually the school her aunt and mother attended and the one she will too. She keeps seeing a quite cute guy stalking her. He’s the one that saved her from a gang that wanted to kill her when she first arrived in Chicago.

“The bright green of his eyes contracts with the darkness of the thick fringe of eyelashes that surround them, making them appear even greener, if possible. They remind me of the sea glass.
Square jaw, milk chocolate hair, velvety British accent makes his distress sound beautiful.”

In the school, she makes new friends, Macey, Xavier, Agnes and Scarlett. But because of her gift, she has to attend the other building of the school, where she meets the mysterious Max Bishop, the stalker, who is Sera’s Protector and Samantha, her Seer who has the ability to touch an object and see its past. These three must make a good team. And they do.

Sera starts having strong feelings for Max but she thinks that he’s taken by another girl, Perpetua, who is proven to be part of a bigger plan that involves a group of people who are trying to destroy a very important artifact. Sera has half the artifact and she is the one who is supposed to find the other half and unite them. She will also find the truth about her mother and more....
Sera and Max are going to face difficulties and the prospect of dying but they’ll find out they’re stronger than that...
If you’ve read Tempest and liked it then you know that Wander Dust is your book.

Goodreads synopsis:

Ever since her sixteenth birthday, strange things keep happening to Seraphina Parrish.

The Lady in Black… burns Sera’s memories.

Unexplainable Premonitions… catapult her to other cities.

The Grungy Gang… wants to kill her.

And a beautiful, mysterious boy… stalks her.

But when Sera moves to Chicago, and her aunt reveals their family connection to a centuries old, secret society, she is immediately thrust into an unbelievable fantasy world, leading her on a quest to unravel the mysteries that plague her. In the end, their meanings crash into an epic struggle of loyalty and betrayal, and she’ll be forced to choose between the boy who has stolen her heart and the thing she desires most.

Wander Dust is the breathtaking fantasy that will catapult you through a story of time, adventure, and
love.
