Title: The Witches of Vegas

Series: The Witches of Vegas #1

Publication Date: August 5th 2020

Genre: Young Adult, Urban Fantasy

Summary

Where can Witches and their vampire mentor practice their powers without being discovered or persecuted?

By using their magic, the Witches of Vegas become the number one act performing on the Las Vegas Strip—a great achievement for them, but not so much for the magicians—who can't possibly keep pace.

Isis Rivera is the adopted fifteen-year old daughter of The Witches of Vegas. Zack Galloway is the teenage nephew and assistant to the last magician left in the city. Although they should be rivals, when Valeria, a four-hundred-year-old witch with a long-seeded grudge against humanity arrives in Sin-City, both teens act to bring their families together to stop the evil hag in her tracks.

But can the combined witches' powers and the ingenuity of the magicians be enough to stop Valeria from taking over the city and possibly the world?

Review

Obtained a free copy in exchange for an honest review by the author.

Isis Rivera is a witch.

After having experienced a traumatic childhood, where her foster parents wanted to burn her alive because of her powers, she's now an essential part of a family of people who accept her for who she is, a young and talented witch.

Her family consists of witches and a vampire who have accomplished to eliminate all of their competitors and now present the best and only magic show in Las Vegas. At the same time, Isis is trained to become better at controlling her powers because the family's vampire mentor warned them that something wicked this way comes... and it may be more powerful than them.

Apart from that, Isis is a teenager, so she also has to deal with more mundane issues, like the teenage emotions she experiences for the time such as frienship, trust and love.

The book is a quick read, the plot is clean and well structured and it unfolds in a way that makes the reader finish the story in a matter of hours. Mark Rosendorf introduces us to a new YA series, where real, pure magic power meets the shiny and intoxicating world of Sin City. An exciting beginning to a very promising series. In Witches of Vegas what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... for now.

Synopsis

Never in a million years would I ever fall for the son of a drug lord. Or so I thought until I moved two doors down from Jett.

Zara thought her life was over when she had to move just days before graduation. The situation went from bad to horrible, when she discovers just how cruel the kids at her new school can be.

When Zara is set up by some bullies and almost raped, she somehow gets free, but she’s haunted by the eyes of the one she believes rescued her.

Later, bad boy Jett is only too willing to step in and help. In fact, Zara can’t seem to get rid of him or his family, who all seem to have a strange obsession with her.
