Chapter 9 Recap

Circle and the Brotherhood

In this chapter Jace,Clary and Simon return to the Institute after visiting Luke's house and being attacked by a Forsaken warrior.In Luke's house they also met Pangborn and Blackwell,two members of the Circle,a group of Shadowhunters,led by Valentine,dedicated to wiping out all Downworlders and returning the world to a 'purer' state.Their plan was to wait for the Downworlders to arrive in Idris to sign the Accords.They must be signed again each fifteen years,to keep their magic potent.Then,they planned to slaughter them all,unarmed and defenseless, an act known as the Uprising.We also find out that Clary's mother,Jocelyn was part of the Circle and was Valentine's mother.Apart from all this,we have the first Isabelle-Simon meeting, Jace's comments on Isabelle's cooking and a conversation between Jace and Church.(which is a cat). :)

Chapter 4 Recap

In Ravener,Clary is in a hurry to go home and see if Jocelyn,her mom is safe.When she arrives there,she sees Madame Dorothea,who always has a request and she expects Luke to fix something for her even if he's not the landlord,sitting in front of her apartment door complaining about the noises that come from Clary's apartment.The door to her apartment is slightly open and when she enters she sees that nothing is missing except for her mom.She goes to her mom's bedroom and that's where she sees a Revener demon in its true form.Clary is defenseless and she will be a delicious treat for the demon.But Clary has with her the Sensor she got from Jace and it's the only thing she can use as a weapon and the only thing that actually kills the demon.But right before Clary escapes the demon hits her in the back of her neck...

When she wakes up,she's lying on the grass and Jace is trying to keep her alive until they get to the Institute.But in order to get there,they have to get away from the police officers who were actually demons.And that's only the beginning...
