Story Behind the Cover 

Our talented designer, Liz Dresner, originally mocked up three different cover directions, but everyone loved this one so much that the other two weren’t even considered! Galene, our primary heroine who controls the tides, dominates the front of the cover. The labyrinth she faces with the power of her tides is the setting for a few chapters of their underwater journey. The delta symbol (triangle) on the labyrinth was originally designed as a goddess holding scales, but we realized she looked like Themis/Lady Justice, a Roman goddess! Liz swapped it out, and delta is more true to our book, anyway. :) We love the color and composition, the story the cover tells, and its overall epic, ominous vibe—it really captures the essence of our story.

 

Author Bio

Talia Rothschild, Italian American, is passionate about stories in many forms—music, dance, photography, film and, of course, great novels. She believes in thick hot chocolate and creamer in your tea. When she’s not happily writing, she’s mothering the sweetest baby girl and making memories with her husband. Her debut book The Immortal Game, coauthored with A. C. Harvey, hits the shelves May 2021.
