Review
Shelby Day is the driving force of the entire story. From the beginning and throughout the book, the reader unravels the complexity of her character. She comes from a wealthy family but she drops everything and moves to a small town where nobody knows her. She's an investigative journalist and the town's two murders are her lucky break, her chance to take her career to the next level. She suffers from PTSD but nontheless, she pushes herself in order to find out who the killer is. The clock is now ticking for her, because the killer is free and Shelby's life is in danger.
Her loyal friend Jack, is always there for her and with a killer on the loose, he wants to protect and keep her safe, but Shelby is independent and strong minded. As a result, she pushes him away, physically and mentally. She believes that any feelings and emotions come in the way of her research for the truth.
