ARC Review

The story

Becca along with her brother Dylan, their father and their stepmother go on a family trip to Europe. She thought that it would be one of the most boring things she would ever do but meeting your other half, the one who makes you feel free and happy who also happens to be a prince and a future king made this trip the best choice she ever made...

The characters

Becca just finished high school. She should be excited that a new chapter in her life is about to begin very soon but she's anything but happy. Her boyfriend dumped her on graduation day, the entire school knew about it and the girl who stole her boyfriend was her best friend. In addition to that, she has to spend some quality and educational time with her family by visiting some of the most important monuments in Europe. The thing is she has no choice.

During the first days of the trip she's lost all hope in doing something fun but then she meets a mysterious, handsome European guy names Nikolai, who keeps popping up in the same places she does. One thing leads to another and they start hanging out. In the beginning everything is great, they spend time together, get to know each other and the attraction between them is pretty obvious.

Nikolai is the prince and future king of Mondovia, a small European country that has the same political system as England does, meaning that it has a parliamentary system but it also has constitutional monarchy. The is an essential part of the country due to his history, background and prestige. Nikolai wants to be a king because he thinks that the people of Mondovia are ready for some changes but his father is very self-opinionated and never listens to what his son is trying to tell him.

So Nikolai decides for the first time to take his life in his own hands and leave the palace. He doesn't really have a plan, just himself and his motorcycle travelling around Europe. This trip would help him clear his head and take some very important decisions about his future but he would never have imagined that during this trip he would meet the love of his life.

I really liked Dylan too. He's Becca's brother and the one who helps her discover herself. He's impulsive and he never thinks about the consequences of his actions. Is he really that spoiled or does he want his father to start noticing him?

Both characters grow up throughout the book. They make some right decisions but they also make some impulsive and careless ones as well. They're both ready to face the music because the time has come for them to live their lives and not the lives their parents have designed for them. But Nikolai will be a future king and Becca is an American citizen. Is the distance their friend or their enemy?

Verdict

A fresh, fun and summery read that will make you want to pack a bag and start your own adventure! You never know what or who you may find!

Rating: 4.5 stars!!
