Publication Date: March 25th 2014
Publisher: Swoon Romance
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Summary from Goodreads

THE ROMEO CLUB IS HITCH meets The Secret of My Success.

What happens when you agree to help your brother “de-nerdify” so he can catch the attention of the popular Chloe Anders, and to everyone's surprise, he actually lands her?

And what if his equally geeky friends come running with girl wish lists of their own, offering money for your services?

Well, if you’re sixteen-year-old, Delyla Denson, then you start The Romeo Club. A secret club where she’ll teach these guys how talk, act, and be cool around girls. It’s a win-win situation.

She’ll get enough money for the awesome prom dress she’s had her eye on, and the guys, well, they’ll get dates and maybe learn how to do something other than beat the next level on their video games.

There are only two problems with this plan. One, her quarterback/track star boyfriend is getting jealous of how much time she’s spending away from him and decides to try and figure out what’s going on. And two, Delyla is kind of falling for her brother’s BFF, Trey who she’s been hanging out with a lot more. And who thanks to her help, has caught the attention of the beautiful, perfect, and popular, Portia Rickard. With Portia and Trey heating up, Delyla realizes that maybe the person she’s meant to be with has been in front of her all this time.

But falling for Trey means she’ll have to take drastic measures including sabotage, with a capital S.

The characters

Delyla Denson is a girl on a mission and what a mission that is! She's popular, has the hottest guy in high school and plays sports. You'd think she's your typical high school movie girl but she has a secret. Make them two! The first is that she's a nerd! She's loves to talk about geeky stuff and play video games and loves superheroes. Her second secret is that she's put together The Romeo Club! It's a club where her nerdy friends are going to be "de-nerdified".

It starts as an experiment but turns out to be a huge success when all the nerds get their dream girl. But being the one helping all the boys including her brother, consumes a lot of her time and she starts cutting back on her time with her boyfriend and that means spending more time with her brother's best friend, nerd and friend since they were kids, Trey.

Trey cleaned up extremely nice when Delyla changed his hair, clothes and taught him how to get the girl. So nice that she can't stop looking and thinking and spending more time with him. She's confused about her feelings towards him but a single kiss, even if it's for practice, changes everything for her. But Tery isn't available anymore but Delyla is determined to get him!

Now she must face her feelings, figure things out with her boyfriend and face the consequences of being the one who created The Romeo Club.

Delyla is a fun to read character and I liked the fact that throughout the book she grows up and matures. She's your typical teenage girl. She has doubts, secrets, boy trouble and emotions she can't control.

Verdict

A quick paced and fun to read novel about discovering yourself, growing up and making the wrong decisions because let's face it it's way more fun and if we make all the right ones, then what's the point? :)

Rating: 4 stars!!
