The characters
Even though Tammy Maskala is Amy's best friend,she doesn't feel like she belongs to the entire group of the Onslow boys and girls.But things are about to change a few days before the new millennium (2000) arrives. The gang has planned a camping trip but as soon as the girls find out about it,the boys have no other choice but to take the girls with them.Toby is with Tess,Sean with Amy and Stan with Belinda.Ellie is Adam's best friend and Ringer is the group's life of the party.So that leaves Chris who is the quiet one and Tammy who is the shy one.
But one thing both Tammy and Chris have no clue about is that the gang is playing matchmaker with these two!They arrange everything so that Chris and Tammy travel on their own in Chris's van and spend a lot of time together.In the beginning of the trip,things are very quiet and awkward but with time comes the jokes,the laughter,the mischievous plans and true feelings.
The connection between Chris and Tammy is pretty obvious if you ask me but they both deny it,at first. But this book isn't only about their relationship.It's about discovering themselves!We also get to read a little bit about Ellie and Adam who will be the next book's protagonists and a couple from a previous book gets a very happy ending!
The plot is simple but unique.When I read C.J.Duggan's books I wish I could be in Australia and see the breathtaking landscapes,the crystal clear blue ocean and the bright sun during winter!
Verdict
This is the third installment in the Summer Series and I have to say that it keeps getting better and better!Summer,romance,forbidden feelings,secrets and one kind of a trip that will make you fall in love with Chris and Tammy's story!
