Her choice of men seems more balanced on the surface—Colin is driven, sexy, and gainfully employed, but she can't help spending her Thursday nights searching for the perfect drink for Lyle, whose music captivates her with its haunting lyrics. Maddy believes everyone has a perfect drink—and finding Lyle's isn't a challenge she's willing to lose.

Shaken Not Stirred is a New Adult Romance with a lot of humor. It follows Maddy, a recent college grad who has no idea what to do with her life after being rejected from med school. She ends up bartending in the Outer Banks and living with two guys (one is her childhood best friend). She has her share of dating misadventures and meets some pretty awesome people along the way to falling in love.
What was your inspiration?
The idea for Shaken Not Stirred came on a trip to the Outer Banks. I had a lot of fun chatting with some of the bartenders, waitresses and store owners and decided it would be fun to write a story based on that experience. Maddy’s story developed from there.

Although I love musicians, Colin wins for me. He’s so sweet.

Do you have a specific writing style?
I’ve been told I have a fairly unique style and voice. I tend to write dialogue heavy first person narrative.
From starting writing books to becoming a recognized author, it’s a long way. How was it when you first started?
Writing was a hobby for years, and even when I published my first book, I never imagined I’d have an opportunity to share my stories with so many people. It’s been an amazing experience.
You’ve written a number of books so you should be accustomed to seeing your books in bookstores. How do you feel every time a book of yours is out for sale?
It’s always exciting to release a new book and share it with the world.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Right now I’m finishing up edits on The Hazards of a One Night Stand. It’s a companion novel to the Hazards of Skinny Dipping. I’m not ready to share any teasers quite yet, but the tag line is: One small town boy, one girl who wants more, one roll in the hay...
