The characters
Spring Honeycutt isn't your typical college girl.She's a junior at Stanford University and a step before publishing her thesis but her professor and mentor believes that she should be more open minded and advices her to do some research and work with somebody who understands economics and land development.That's where Henry Knightly the Third comes in.He's hot,rich,smart and his father is one of the biggest land developments in the U.S. For Spring, accepting Henry's help means that she have to spend endless hours listening to things she was always opposed to.Turns out that's not the only she things she has to worry about...
After graduating from Duke,Henry along his best friend Dart,decide to transfer to Stanford to continue their studies.There,he kept hearing from Dart's sister,Lilah,about a girl described as a "dirty hippie".In the beginning he believed Lilah and didn't pay attention to Spring but when he met and to talk to her at a party,he realized that she's anything but a hippie,she's just a strong-opinionated girl and he's a strong-opinionated boy as well.He loves pushing Spring's buttons and their fights are hilarious and intense.It's the first time someone doesn't agree with everything Spring and that a)frustrates her and b)surprises and impresses her.
Hands down,you can feel the tension and passion between these two from the very beginning.Henry is every girl's dream boyfriend.He's caring,charming,sweet,supportive,compassionate and very very patient as far as Spring is concerned.Maybe he knows from the start that she's worth waiting and fighting for.Spring on the other side hasn't felt like that before.It's new territory for her,she's scared and confused since not only Henry but also Alex is interested in her.
Alex and Henry go way back.Alex claims that Henry got him expelled years ago.Henry claims that Alex got himself expelled.Two sides of the same story.Which one will Spring believe?
I loved Definitely,Maybe In Love because the characters are so genuine.Apart from Henry and Spring,there's also Julia and Mel,Spring's two best friends.Mel is the adventurous one.You will love and laugh with her lines when she describes Henry!Julia is more shy and quiet as a character.The only thing I'll tell you about her is that she's meant to be with Dart,that's all!
Verdict
One of the best New Adult novels I've read!Ophelia London created and amazingly romantic love story and teaches us that love isn't rocket science,it's much much difficult.

Mary Duncanson, who also writes as Mary Malcolm, lives in North Texas with a menagerie of animals and feral roommates. She is currently looking to adopt a husband, preferably housebroken, preferably as silly as her.
