Review
The characters
Brie O’Mara is an eighteen year old aspiring actress who works two jobs in order to save money for an acting school she wants to attend in New York. She just moved in her own apartment, away from her controlling mother and she's in search of a roommate until Sarah McIntyre appears and desperately asks from Brie to live with her.Brie accepts and that's where the story begins.
Sarah is filthy rich. Her parents passed away and her only relatives are her brother who is missing but he draws money from his bank account. That means that their uncle wants to have complete control over the children's money.Sarah's plan is to disappear and even her uncle with his government contacts wouldn't be able to trace her.But in order to accomplish that, she needs to find a girl she can switch positions with for a few days until Sarah can transfer the money to the other girl's bank account and leave the country for good and that girl is going to be Brie.
In the beginning Brie is very hesitant and doesn't trust Sarah, but when Sarah explains the entire plan to her and the amount of money she will get, money that could provide Brie a luxurious future, she has no other choice but to agree. But who's really after Sarah? Is Brie really a victim or does she have an ulterior motive?
In my opinion,Brie was naive, she made some bad decisions and she didn't really care about the consequences. However, even if Brie isn't a religious person,Pastor Perry helped her with his wise words when Brie needed an opinion but she didn't tell him a lot and that cost her.Sometimes you got to follow your instinct and don't believe everything people tell you.
Verdict
Dead Dreams is full of mystery, suspense and a cliffhanger - very frustrating if you ask me :) - that makes you want to read the sequel. And trust me I will.
