I can’t get her out of my head.  Every time I blink, her sparkling blue eyes are right there and I’m drawn to her against all reason. 

It isn’t just the eyes. It’s the way she looked at me. There’s a tempest going on behind those eyes but she still sees me. No one’s done that since… 

I run my hands through my hair fighting the impulse to tear it out.  Damn, that girl completely got my number the second she looked at me.  It was crazy.  It was unbelievable.  I have to see her again. 

I head over to my bookshelf and run a finger over the edges of manila envelopes filed there.  Which one should I choose? 

Damn, her eyes were amazing.  But no, I have to pick an envelope.  I shake my head but it doesn’t dislodge the image of her eyes.  

I pull out an envelope and remove the few sheets of paper inside; one of my ‘journal’ entries.  I skim the lines.  Not bad.  Maybe she would like it. 

No!  What am I doing, going insane over this girl?  We haven’t even talked, I can’t just hand her a story the next time I see her.  What the hell would I say?  ‘I just met you but I want you to read this crazy shit I wrote.’  Yeah, that would be smooth, if I wanted to go to jail, directly to jail.  Do not pass Go.  No two hundred bucks.   

I take a deep breath and return the envelope to the shelf.

Chill out, I tell myself.  She’s just a girl.  

Yeah, right.
